The Austin market hit a record in May for going over the $1 billion in sales volume in a single month.
Sales in the 5 county Austin area (Travis, Williamson, Hays, Bastrop, Caldwell) hit $1.23 billion for the month.
The record in sales volume is attributed to an 8% increase in median sales price and 9% increase in number of homes sold over May a year ago.
What's important to learn from these numbers and the monthly stats is that the homes with good value are selling. On the flip side, the number of homes that are actively on the market is also rising. That tells us that buyers are willing to pay top dollar for homes with the right value. Buyers are not willing to buy homes that the price and condition/location do not match.
